A passion for fly fishing that became a mission to share it with everyone.

Our Story

Riverbend Fly Fishing Co. was born on the banks of the Credit River in 2012. What started as a weekend hobby for founder Mike Reynolds quickly became an obsession — and then a calling.

We believe fly fishing isn't just a sport — it's a way to connect with nature, to slow down, and to experience Ontario's waterways in a way few people ever do. Our mission is to make that experience accessible to everyone, from first-timers to seasoned anglers.

Every guide on our team is certified, insured, and passionate about teaching. We provide top-quality equipment so you never have to worry about gear. And we pick you up in Toronto so you can focus on what matters: fishing.

Everything you need to know before booking your excursion.

Absolutely not! Our excursions are designed for all skill levels. Beginners are our specialty — our guides will teach you everything from casting to reading the water. Many of our guests have never held a fly rod before.

Just yourself, weather-appropriate clothing (layers are best), a valid Ontario fishing licence (if you have one — we can help you get one if not), and a sense of adventure. All fishing equipment, waders, and lunch are provided. We'll send a detailed packing list after booking.

Yes, a valid Ontario Outdoors Card and fishing licence are required for anyone 18-64. You can purchase these online through the Ontario government website. If you don't have one yet, select "Not yet" during booking and we'll help you get set up on the day of your excursion.

Fishing happens rain or shine — some of the best fishing is in light rain! However, if conditions are unsafe (thunderstorms, flooding, high winds), we'll reschedule your excursion at no cost. You'll be notified by phone the evening before if there are any concerns.

We fish several rivers within a 1-2 hour drive of Toronto, including the Credit River, Grand River, and Ganaraska River. Your guide selects the best location based on current water conditions, fish activity, and the season. The specific river will be confirmed the day before your excursion.

Free cancellation up to 14 days before your excursion. 50% refund for cancellations 7-14 days before. No refund for cancellations within 7 days, but we're happy to reschedule to another available date at no charge.

Yes! We welcome anglers aged 12 and up. Children under 16 fish for free (Ontario regulation) but still count toward our 6-person group maximum. We recommend the excursion for children who are comfortable being outdoors for a full day.

Yes — if you book all 6 spots, you'll have a private guide for your group. This is perfect for families, corporate outings, or friends wanting a more personalised experience. Contact us for group rates on 6+ bookings.
